This plant can grow to 5' tall and is characterized by its spectacular clumping flowers. The shrub Bird of Paradise is great in pots and its best growing area is in full sun, or as a filler plant under taller palms, such as a Queen and King Palms. The Shrub Bird needs good drainage and loamy soil. It is very tender to frost and does not respond well if planted in clay soils.
